This session wasn't really a session... at least not like I typically do. A friend of mine is in this music group, Erie Waters, & I got to photograph one of their performances in Battery Park! First off, super talented band, go check them out. & some of the nicest guys ever! Second, this shoot was an experiment & a half for me. & I'll explain.
I usually have pretty controlled sessions, meaning I control the lighting and/or time of day, location, colors, poses, etc. for my photoshoots. But this was a live event to capture, so lots of variables. Already a bit of an experiment, & I knew that with such a jam band there'd be motion in every photo to work with or around. But ya'll know me, I love learning new things. Then the performance time got changed from daylight hours to after dark... & I never shoot in the dark! So, experiment & a half. But SUCH a fun one, & these guys clearly have so much passion for music, it makes me miss the days I was more of a musician & performer, myself! Rock on, boys!
